Life in The Pacific Northwest doesn’t get much better than this — a group of deer stopping to drink along the edge of Lake Whatcom. Sudden Valley, located southeast of Bellingham, offers its residents gorgeous private community living right in the heart of nature. Scenes like the one above play out all the time — just imagine watching these beautiful creatures from your window or your backyard deck!

Bulbs are up early this year all over Bellingham, no doubt a result of our mild (and sunny!) winter. Who says we only get rain here?

Downtown Bellingham has many green spaces set in among the 100-year-old buildings, and it really makes for a lovely stroll on a crisp spring day. goosePeople who live in Whatcom County’s Silver Beach neighborhood are never short on gorgeous views like this one, where a Canadian Goose flies in for a landing on Lake Whatcom! This 14-mile lake is home to a wide variety of birds, mammals and fish, and it provides drinking water for 85,000 Whatcom County residents.

Lake Whatcom is surrounded by some of Bellingham’s most lovely homes — to find a Silver Beach home perfect for your family, please give me a call for the very latest information on available Silver Beach properties.

Even though the temps are still brisk, sunny days in March can be excellent opportunities to get out and enjoy nature in The Pacific Northwest at its freshest. A great place to safely and easily take advantage of Whatcom County‘s natural beauty is to walk around Lake Padden. The maintained gravel trails only have a few medium slopes, and moms with strollers, walkers, joggers, and cyclists all share the 2.6 mile looped trail throughout the year. There is also a off-leash dog area nearby, as well as basketball courts, tennis courts, and other recreational activities as the weather continues to warm.

Residents of Bellingham‘s Samish neighborhood get great access to this recreational gem year-round. To find a great Samish home for you and your family, take a look at my free Northwest MLS home search.

WTA

WTA’s bus depot in Downtown Bellingham is always a bustle of activity, as Western Washington University students and other Whatcom County commuters use this station each day to get to school and work. Bellingham has a well-planned bus system that makes it easy and affordable to get where you need to go — not to mention, a bit greener.
