If you’re planning to travel to Vancouver for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, do yourself a favor and check out the many public transportation options available. VANOC (the Vancouver Olympic Committee) has ramped up public transportation to and from Vancouver, as well as to and from Whistler, BC, during the Games.
One convenient option for Olympic travelers is to take the Skytrain into Vancouver. Visitors can stay in Surrey, BC, just across the border from Bellingham, and for $7.50 (round-trip) can relax as the Skytrain whisks them into the City. With several convenient stops along the half-hour journey, the Skytrain takes passengers directly to BC Place, where the Opening and Closing ceremonies and nightly medal presentations will be taking place.
